The Reverend Dr. Jimmy Lim is the Executive Vice President of the New School of Biblical Theology. He previously served as the General Secretary of the Commission of Religious Leaders NYC, an independent body representing Catholic, Jewish, Protestant and Islamic communities in New York and their senior leadership. He also served as the Executive Director of the Council of Churches of the City of New York, the oldest continuing ecumenical organization in the United States established in 1815.
Dr. Lim is a graduate of Nyack College where he was awarded his B.A. in Philosophy in 1998. He continued his studies at Alliance Theological Seminary and earned his Master of Divinity degree from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 2002 which is the oldest Protestant seminary in the United States established in 1784. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from New York Theological Seminary in 2010.
He served on the Board of Trustees of New Brunswick Theological Seminary and also on the Board of Trustees of New York Theological Seminary where he also served as an adjunct faculty. He is ordained in the Reformed Church in America, the oldest Protestant denomination in the United States established in 1628 and has been a strong advocate for gender and racial equality.
