Dale T. Irvin is a founding faculty member of the New School of Biblical Theology, a new venture in graduate theological education that is related to the Christian Cultural Center of Brooklyn, NY and Orlando, FL. Among his other current activities he is Chair of Ecclesiological Investigations International Research Network and a Senior Fellow in the Colangelo Carpenter Innovation Center within Leadership Foundations.
Dr. Irvin previously served on the faculty of New York Theological Seminary for 31 years as Professor, serving for 13 of those years as President as well. A graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary (MDiv) and Union Theological Seminary in New York (PhD), he is the author and editor of several books, including History of the World Christian Movement, a three-volume project he has written with Scott W. Sunquist. Over the past several decades his articles have appeared in a number of journals including Christianity Today, Christian Century, The Ecumenical Review and The Journal of Pentecostal Studies. He is a founding editor of The Journal of World Christianity and serves on several other editorial boards.
Dr. Irvin has held visiting or adjunct appointments at several theological schools and universities and has lectured and preached throughout the world. An ordained minister in the American Baptist Churches USA, he is a member of The Riverside Church in New York City.
